From the website:

Best if you want to: Detoxify and deep cleanse your skin with a weekly mask that uses natural ionic clay action to draw out impurities and control excess oil.

Best for: oily/combination skin

How it works:
  • Community Trade bladderwack seaweed and seaweed harvested from the French coast balance skin tone and purify and clarify the complexion.
  • 100% natural clay complex cleanses and revitalizes skin; negatively charged ions act like magnets to draw out dirt and impurities from the pores.

My own thoughts:

- First of all I want to specify that I only use this on my nose where I have a ton of blackheads.

- It DOES pull out blackheads, but only partially (not completely-- for blackheads that are deeper-rooted, this clay doesn't get them all the way out)

- I would let it sit on longer for better results (usually I just rinse it off once I think it appears dry, but you want to leave it a little longer than that to make sure it's not only dry on the outside; around 25-30 minutes)

- I can see the "holes" of the pore after using the mask (that's how I know the blackheads are only partially pulled out) so it doesn't minimize/shrink pores. After using it everyday for two weeks (told you I'm obsessed with blackheads XD) I had to stop cuz this clay left my pores open! I had to stop using it to let my pores recover to their original state. So now I only use this occasionally.

Overall... hmm... I neither recommend or not recommend it XD it's one of those products you can give it a try or just pass.

Hope it's helpful to some of you~

The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream Review

Hello there!

Today's gonna be a review on this mattifying day cream from The Body Shop!
Let's just get started cuz at the moment I'm too lazy to write more intro XD

Usually $16 but I got mine for $8 while it was on sale.

From the website:

Best if you want to: Control shine and achieve a matte complexion with a light, oil-free cream that moisturizes your skin throughout the day.

How it works:
  • Community Trade bladderwack seaweed balances skin tone and clarifies the complexion.
  • Oil-balancing, time-release technology controls existing sebum.
  • Antioxidant Vitamin E moisturizes, nourishes and helps to protect skin against premature aging and environmental aggressors.

My own thoughts:

- May I first point out the product name itself is inaccurate? lol! It's definitely not a cream. It's more like a gel.
- It DOES mattify my face-- I can feel the difference. The effect is almost similar to using a primer. However the oil control doesn't last all day-- although I look less oily, I still look oily at the end of the day (mainly just my nose).

- Not moisturizing enough/too drying for my cheeks! I don't think this product is suitable for whole face application if you have combination skin like I do...

- Haven't been using this much (if at all haha) cuz the smell is too too toooo strong for my liking! I mean the smell itself is nice, but on my face... me no likey! Usually I like my skincare products not fragranted or just slightly fragranted. Preferably "comfortably" or "elegantly" fragranted if that makes sense XD

Maybe I will give it another chance tomorrow, I feel bad buying this and not using it!

Hope some of you find this helpful =)

Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream Review

Photobucket

Price: $17

What it claims to do:
Helps reduce appearance of fine lines, puffiness and dark circles.

Personally... I have fine lines under my eyes (T^T why~~~ am I THAT old~~)
and I do have dark circles (and eye bags =_=)

I have been using this product for about 5 weeks?
Personally I haven't felt or noticed any difference XD so I guess that means it's not gonna do anything for me.
A little bit disappointed because the lady who works at the Body Shop said she really loves this stuff. Well I guess it's just not for me. It might be because I'm already using high-end skin care products though? (I use Shiseido).

So I will just carry on with my fine lines and dark circles XD (I've always had these fine lines =_= and dark circles... I think only going to bed actually early helps XD). But I will finish using this product :) Just a preventative thing. Will be on the hunt for a better eye cream after I finished this :)

Any one has used a good eye cream????
