Dolly Wink Volume Mascara Review

Hello there!

So today I have the Dolly Wink Volume Mascara review for you ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Lol finally got around to use it!



For you Japanese readers ^_^

My thoughts:
- It's a dry formula (compared to the DW Long mascara which has wet formula)
- Holds curls (unlike DW Long mascara does NOT hold curls)
- I really really like the applicator. It's quite unique cuz it's smaller at the tip, which makes it really easy to get the inner/outer corner lashes! 
- Supposed to be waterproof but it smudges SO easily on my lower eyelid!!
- I find this mascara actually quite clumpy and not easy to build on my short lashes....

Really like this unique applicator. Completely different from the DW Long mascara which is made of this soft rubber. The tip is awesome for hard-to-reach lashes.

Don't know why but when this mascara clumps there are those little round mascara clumps??? Kind of remind me of the Maybelline Colossal Volume Express mascara.

Overall, I think this mascara is just average. I definitely won't repurchase. Especially not impressed because every single time I wear it it smudges on my lower eyelid (and let me clarify I don't normally ever wear mascara on my lower lashes. Just put some on in these pics. And yep the mascara somehow still travels from upper lashes to my lower eyelid).

Dolly Wink No.2 Gray Pink Eye Shadow Palette Review

Hey guys!

This is a way overdue post 囧! Cuz I bought this like earlier this year? But I just never got around to review this and the No.1 Palette... cuz... honestly... I wasn't super impressed with them (囧 x 2!!) So I wasn't that excited to write a review on it... (Tsubasa fans please don't kill me >_<)  but since I decided to use this palette today, might as well :P This is probably only the third time I used it @_@

As usual, let's take a look at the packaging cuz you all know Dolly Wink has the most adorable packaging!

The palette itself is small, which I like ^_^ doesn't take up much space is always a bonus!












The swatches look pretty good on my hands. My main disappointment is the pink eye shadow, which in my opinion is the life and soul of this palette. Unfortunately, I found the pink eye shadow to be the least pigmented, and it just doesn't translate that well on my skin (maybe it's my skin tone). I have to use a wet brush to apply the pink shade to get the intensity I want. The greys and the black are also not as intense when applied on my eyes.

And I guess a lot of it is I compare the eye shadow performance with my high-end eye shadows (like Lancome) so I guess I'm not really being fair. I want to say it is a very good quality palette for a drugstore product (but then again quite expensive for drugstore as well), but it just doesn't match up with high-end ones. Also I am not too fond of the texture of the eye shadow????? I can't describe it but I do prefer certain textures when it comes to eye shadows. I just don't like the feel of these as well.


I don't usually wear lower lashes on a regular basis so I just did my regular eyeliner routine. The pink eye shadow looks weird on its own if I don't wear bottom lashes or eyeliner.

You can see the dark grey didn't show up too well. And I did use a wet brush to apply the pink shade to build up the intensity.










Hm I really don't have that much to say so I guess that's it? I love the color scheme of this palette but I wish the pink one is more pigmented.

A lot of times I think Boba behaves quite like a dog... cuz he really likes to lick... this is my first time having a bunny as a pet, is this normal to all bunnies? ^__^

Dolly Wink Cream Eye Shadow (Rainbow Crystal) Review

Hello bloggies!

I feel like it's been a while since I posted XD I am currently freezing my ass off cuz it's -16F here in Colorado and my central heat sucks and my space heater isn't warming up enough... (´д`)  *dies* I have to put both my guinea pig and my bunny in my bedroom when I sleep so they don't freeze in my living room O_O and I am really looking forward to the morning when it will be -6F or higher hopefully  ╮（￣▽￣）╭  I. fucking. envy. you ppl. on the other side of the world. who are. enjoying. summer. -_________- (sorry for the f word, I'm so cold!!!!)

 Anyway, Moving on to my review! Today is another Dolly Wink product, the cream eye shadow!

As you all know, there are two cream eye shadows available. One is white and the other is gold. 
 I got mine in #2 because I already have a gold cream eye shadow base.

I think I'd buy the products just to collect Tsubasa's promo pics... XD Seriously though this is the first time I'm keeping the packaging! hahaha


Here's the cream eye shadow!







It is... very... unexpectedly... glittery 囧

My first reaction upon swatching this was... er... what is this?

To be honest, I feel like I'm kind of cheated by the advertisement =_=

If you look at the product promo pic on the Dolly Wink official website

It just looks like a nice wash of shimmery white eye shadow.

BUT in reality... it looks like this:

little chunks of glitter... it's not shimmers...

As you can see, there are purple and green flexes in it.

So my thoughts on this product...

- Very glittery (now I understand why it's called Rainbow crystal XD)

- The texture is kind of hard to explain... very silky/slippery but at the same time with little chunks of glitter? Not that the glitter stands out in texture particularly but you can feel it.
 
- From the Dolly Wink official website I definitely could NOT tell it is a glittery cream eye shadow... if I had know I probably wouldn't have purchased it... I was expecting more of a shimmery cream eye shadow :T

- Glitters fall off very easily when you apply eye shadow over it, especially if you use a sponge applicator. What's worse the glitter sticks to the sponge applicator... well that's what happened to me when I tried to use the sponge applicator that comes with the Dolly Wink eye shadow palette...

- I think best results comes with patting your eye shadow on top of this cream eye shadow with your fingers. If you use a brush, the glitters come off easily. If you use a sponge applicator, the glitter come off easily AND stick to your applicator.


Really not the best cream eye shadow in my opinion especially if you're using it as a base... cuz it kind of takes a while to "set."
And the glitter is just not my style. I'm actually considering selling it cuz I don't find myself reaching for this at all O_O...

Dolly Wink Long Mascara Review

Hello there!

How's everyone? I hope you're all doing good! I'm kind of having a bad day here T_T... have some problem with registration with this ONE class I have to take... so frustrating. Trying very hard to resolve the problem... but not very hopeful. Anyhow! Let's not talk about the depressing stuff I'd hate to bore you guys with it lol!

Here's my review for the Dolly Wink Long Mascara!

My thoughts:

- Water-proof, stays on, doesn't flake. 

- Lengthening is good, nothing too dramatic.

- Softest mascara applicator I've ever used. It feels like soft rubber? Doesn't scratch my eyelid which I love! =)

- This mascara has an interesting formula... definitely not your conventional mascara. And this mascara seriously DOES NOT CLUMP. Even when I reapply the mascara after 8 hours, it applies on like you're freshly applying mascara, it's insane cuz I've never used a mascara like this

- Major drawback of this mascara: it doesn't hold curls well =*(  my lashes will droop a little after applying this mascara, but it's not bad. But because of my personal preference, I have to curl my lashes again after using this mascara.

- You know how sometimes when you curl your lashes after you apply your mascara, if you're not careful, the lashes would clump together? Well this mascara doesn't! I love it for this! Even if I used more strength to curl, it still doesn't clump! ohhh I LOVE!

- It takes forever to get off UNLESS you use warm water to take it off lol! Kind of like Fiberwig mascara. But the formula is definitely different from Fiberwig. 

I really think this is a great mascara! (Aside from the fact it doesn't hold curls well), it DOESN'T CLUMP WHATSOEVER I'm telling you it has the most NATURAL finish ever. And I have used quite a number of mascaras out there!

Had to curl it again after application to make the lashes stand up more since I lost some of the curl with this mascara

I think you will truly love this mascara if you love natural, clean-looking lashes ^_^ 

And... I want to add that unfortunately, I'm one-mascara-at-a-time girl, so I probably won't be reviewing the volume mascara at least in another 3-4 months...
