Makeup for ppl who have lower folds-- Natural look

Hello hello...!!! =)
Photobucket
Okay... you guys are prob thinking... huh?!?!????

LOL that's not me... I want to thank my very good friend, Joyce <3 for agreeing to let me do makeup/blog about it :) Thanks Joyce! LOVE YOU!!

I'm so excited to share this! This is actually what I set out to do on my blog... working with different ppl with different features... :) you DON'T have to look like anyone else, you don't have to try to change yourself to look like models or celebrities... you're beautiful the way you are! There's always a way to work with your features, you just have to work with it and find it :)

So this post is dedicated to those out there whose folds are lower.
We Asians all know we have very different folds, positiong higher or lower, folding outward, or inward, or not even having a fold at all-- monolids. I will write a post about different eye folds in another post :) working in progress.

You DON'T have to use glue or tape to try to change your fold... just work with it :)

Here's the pic of the lower fold so you have an idea of what I'm talking about

For eyeliner:
And here's my suggested map:
Photobucket
This is not the best representation of my friend's eye although I based the map on one of her pics. But I think her fold is a bit higher than this. Anyway, depending on how low your fold is, if it's really low you can only see on the outer corner, I'd suggest only tight-lining on the upper liner. If your fold is a bit higher than this, you can line the outer 1/3 or outer 1/2, really depends on how you like it. For my friend, I tight-lined her upper liner, then start lining her around half way.

For eye shadow:
Because of the nature of her fold, I brought the eye shadow way pass her fold so it would show better. It would help when you're applying eyeshadow, bring it up, then look straight into the mirror to see if you can see the color or it's all "buried" in the folds lol. Sometimes it would feel like you already put a lot of eye shadow on, but when you actually look straight, you can barely see the eye shadow. So keep checking in the mirror and see how far you should bring the eye shadow up until you can see it when you look straight. :)

I only used three colors: matte white under her brow bone, matte taupe all over her lid, matte dark brown on the outer corner and on outer corner of her lower lashline.

Her lashes are freaking long O_O that's only one coat of mascara... damn!

Photobucket
ps. I should've combed the lashes in place... ahh!! :P

For the rest of her face...
-Missha BB cream in 23
- A bit of MAC select moisture cover in NC 20 on the redness around her nose
- Stila Marigold for blush
- Anastasia duo brow powder in medium ash

That's it! Thanks again, Joyce! <3 <3
Song of the day:

"Pyramid" by Charice, featuring Iyaz

Charice is amazing! Just bought her album today and I couldn't stop listening to it :)

Going-out look coming up as well! Also might be working on a Ayumi Hamasaki inspired look :)

Oh yeah, for my hair, I just put a bunch of mousse in it and tousle it up... to get that texture :) Was gonna straighten my hair+tease it+put mousse in there but got too lazy lol. Girlicious "Maniac" Inspired Makeup

Hey hey hey!!

I'm so excited to share this!!!
This will be very different from what I usually do... a very, very smokey, sexy look =)

Photobucket
Inspired by the Maniac music video, by Girlicious

I've been so addicted to this song ever since it came out... and I'm sooo excited that the music video finally finally came out >_<
Love the music, love their outfit, love the choreography, love the makeup.... I love everything about this vid :P

I'm going for Nicole's look :) She's my favorite <3
I love love love her voice!

Here's a song of Nicole's solo singing... (the rapping part by Natalie)

Anywayyyy...

Here's sexy Nicole =)

Here are all the things I used to accomplish this look:
Photobucket
1. Makeup Forever and Givenchy Foundation
2. MAC select moisture cover concealer (in NC 20)
3. Estee Lauder translucent loose powder
4. Matte white eyeshadow from Too Faced Natural Eyeshadow Collection
5. bareEscentuals eye shadow primer
6. Copperplate eye shadow from MAC (any similar taupes will do)
7. Jabberwocky from Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette (cuz I don't have a matte black eye shadow lol)
8. Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil (the reason I used this is for convenience... I didn't meant for the makeup to last long. Please use your favorite, long-lasting black eyeliner :D )
9. MAC mineralize blush in Light Over Dark
10. MAC Mineralize SkinFinish in Soft and Gentle
11. Blush/Contour duo in Marigold from Stila
12. Revlon lipstick in Nude
13. Victoria Secret lipgloss in Embrace

** Remember, you don't need to use the same things! Obviously I don't know what they actually use on Girlicious lol...

A few close-up pics on the products so you guys can see the color

For face... apply your usual routine...
1. Foundation
2. Concealer
3. Loose powder
4. Dust Mineralize Skinfinish lightly all over your face cuz Nicole has that overall glow to her face :) just lightly though, you don't want your face to look super shiny!

I thought the eye makeup is pretty self-explanatory if you look closely at the pics
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
1. Define your brow bone using a matte white eyeshadow
2. Put the taupe eye shadow all over your lid, a little bit pass your crease/fold but not too high up. Bring the corner into a cat eye shape
3. Mix the black eye shadow with the taupe eye shadow and apply it on the bottom lash line. Extend to join the eyeshadow on the lid.
4. Line your eyes. If you look at her last pic, on her bottom liner, it is thick on the outer half but only her waterline on the inner half.
5. Use the black eye shadow to darken the outer corner in a V shape, as well as your inner corner.

*** Take your time to blend the black eye shadow!!! Use little by little so you won't over-do it... It took me a while... lol

Now for the blush and contour... here's the map:

Photobucket
The blue part is for contouring (sides of your forehead, hollow of your cheeks, jaw line and under your chin)
- I used the brown color from Stila Marigold palette.

The pink part is for your blush.
- I mixed both colors from the Light Over Dark blush, but using a bit more of the cinnamon color on cheek bone and the lighter color above the cheek bone
- I also dusted a bit of this blush all over my face cuz my foundation is a bit too pale for this look.

For my lips, I just mixed the nude gloss with the nude lipstick with a lip brush.

That's it! Ahhh sorry it's SO long! But I hope you guys like it cuz I love this look =)

Pics will be posted separately and sooon :)

New haircut... and color?!

Hello hello....!!!

Okay I'm officially done with school for now XD WAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. so freaking happy!!!!
Don't get me wrong I love school... minus studying and exams and homework (which is pretty much 90% of school?! hahaha)
You guys ready for summer? ^__^

Anyway here's a much much delayed post... my "new" haircut XD nothing too exciting really.

So this time my stylist suggested giving me a razor cut (basically using a razor to cut your hair instead of using scissors... haha fancy). I don't usually do razors cuz they tend to harm your hair more (dragging the blades down your hair essentially O_O) But I didn't mind roughing my hair up a little... easier to manage if your hair is a little bit damaged to be honest XD (virgin hair is always the hardest to work with). And she gave me choppy layers (hmm I can't tell if they're choppy but I do like my new layers? ^-^)

So I ended up taking 3 inches off... WAHH!!!!! THREE freaking inches! ok that was stupid of me... but I thought well I'm spending this much money on my haircut... I want to see a difference... hence the 3 inches... (originally was gonna keep the length T^T) I ALWAYS do this whenever I go into a salon... no matter how many times I told myself that it took me forever to grow my hair out so I should try to keep the length... I never came out of the salon with the same length. NEVER. XD

As for the hair color... I thought it was sort of a waste of money =_= it's not nearly as ashy as I hoped... it still has hints of red in it, although not as pronounce. (The color technician said in order to get rid of the red/gold in my hair she'll need to add more ash to the color... I was like oooh is that how it works?! mental note XD Gonna pick a super ash/green-based blonde next time XD)

In conclusion... I don't look any different, except I have less hair now XD hahahah.

It was funny she didn't really touch my bangs cuz I already cut it XD she did trim it a tiny bit so I can do either side-swept bangs or straight bangs. Nothing special really... cuz I can do that myself lol.

Here's my hair in its natural state...
Photobucket
Loads of short layers, can you see? ^-^ love my new layers.

With a bit of hair-styling products
Photobucket
I love tousled hair look ^-^

Since my hair is shorter now... gonna think up some new ways to style it ^^
Anyone getting a new haircut/style for summer? :)

By the way, I got my haircut at Toni & Guy's at Park Meadows Mall, and my stylist's name is JLynn (this information is for my friends who stalk me here but never leave comments XD)

Hi... =)

Helloooo!!!

Haven't updated my blog in two weeks >_< So just wanna come here and say hi =) Hope everyone's doing well!

Right now I only have one exam left and it's not till the day after tomorrow... so I'm pretty chill now haha.

I spent all Saturday on campus taking finals... Sunday all day on campus studying... Monday all day on campus studying and taking my biochem final... so it had been like almost three full days until I was actually really home, and interacted with my guinea pig >_<

I was soo happy to hold him and play with him lol!!
Took these yesterday =P my webcam sucks haha.
Photobucket
Charlie was prob thinking...wtf???

Photobucket

I know he's HUGE. but I like it =) so I don't have to be too careful/gentle with him XD I was gonna get hamsters but they're so small I was scared I'd squeeze them and kill them O_O

lol a very random post it is.

I'll have more beauty-related stuff coming up soon... =)
