Diorskin Nude Skin-Glowing Foundation Review

Hi guys!

Last week I showed my little Dior purchase, which included the new Skin-glowing foundation and the nude lipstick, so today I bring you the reviews =D By the way please refer to that post for more swatches.

So continuing on where I left off from that last post, here's the information on the packaging of the foundation:

This totally reminds me of the packaging of OTC drugs LMAO.

Ingredients:

Did you notice that alcohol is the top third ingredient listed?! O_______O not gonna lie that freaks me out a bit.

random picture of the new brushes released.

Okay now onto the most exciting part... the actual application :D

Naked face XD macro-focusing for the win XD

Right side of my face (your left) with the Nude foundation, and bare face on the left (your right).

SAM_1587
you can see the gorgeous natural glow it gives, and the great coverage!

SAM_1589
I used my Sigma flat top synthetic kabuki brush to apply by the way.SAM_1592
super focused. Yep my blackheads are getting out of control. Need to attend to that soon -__-" But anyway the point is, it covers the blackheads well too!

So my thoughts on this foundation?

Initially I was IN LOVE with this foundation. It almost become my holy grail. It gives me about 4-5 hours of wear without any noticeable shine which is actually pretty darn good considering this foundation already has that glow to it! The coverage and finish were perfection-- truly a "nude" foundation.

But.... :(

I know you guys hate seeing "but's," I do too, but there's a "but" :((((

The more I wear the foundation, the more I notice that the foundation kind of settles into my pores and accentuates them
SAM_1599

SAM_1603
I know it's not terrible, not even that noticeable if I haven't said anything or zoomed in so closely, but it does bug me okay?  Because I haven't had any problem with noticing my pores with my other foundations, BUT I did with this foundation.

So I actually returned this foundation ='((((((((( it actually hurts returning this foundation :*(( But I feel like at $48... I cannot justify the price without the foundation being impeccable. Plus the pore problem really does bug me. I haven't noticed my pores my whole life so why should I be bothered with them now? Oh also, I found that the foundation does settle into my expression lines a bit at the end of the day. It's not terrible or that noticeable but I did notice. So that's another reason why I decided to return it. SO SAD!!!!!! I so hate to go back on what I said in my other post because it is truly a beautiful foundation, but just not perfect enough for me. And I apologize for the lack of demonstration video cuz I already returned the foundation. Plus I thought the pictures demonstrated my point much better than a video anyway.

Okay now moving on from that heartache...  I did keep the lipstick =D Well the proceedings go to charities so I see no reason not to keep it lol!

Again, for more pictures please refer to my older post.

And if anyone remembers... last year I talked about how I really liked the formula of the Giorgio Armani lipstick? Well I can tell you now that the GA lipstick has NOTHING on this Dior lipstick! XD Seriously, the texture of the GA lipstick is substantially out-performed by the Dior lipstick. This Dior lipstick truly applies like a dream, smooths out lip lines, good pigmentation, very moisturizing and creamy, and does not make my lips peel. I love! Drawback? It really doesn't last... pretty much if you take a sip of water then half of the lipstick on your lips will now end up on the cup. So it will be a high maintenance lipstick (and there isn't that much product to begin with).

Here's my naked lips.

With the lip color. Somehow applying the lip color offsets the color scheme on my camera a bit so it appears a bit yellow.
SAM_1772

While I adore this lipstick, I can't help but wish that I have a more golden complexion :) I really think this will be the most gorgeous nude lip color if you have more tan or more gold in your complexion.

Just want to put this up again so you guys can see this lip color on Natalie Portman. Plus she looks so hot. XD

That concludes my review for my Dior products! I hope you guys enjoyed it =)

Rania Dr. Feel Good Inspired Makeup

Hey guys!

So I was bored... and my i-Tunes was playing "Dr. Feel Good" by Rania and all of a sudden I had this urge to recreate the makeup look XD
Photobucket

Here's the music video in case you haven't seen it:

Ohh the sexy ladies!

Here's the look I was basing my look on.
Photobucket

Here are some other Rania looks:

Photobucket
As you can see, the members of Rania actually have slight variation of the same look.

Photobucket

If you're interested, I have a video for you guys ^_^

Please watch in HD!

PS: Feel free to put on lower lashes or just pile on a ton of mascara on them... my lower lashes are non-existent so I didn't even bother to try XD and I don't have anything similar to what Rania has.

Hope you guys enjoyed the video :D

Products used:
1. TonyMoly Crystal Stick Eye Shadow (there isn't a number/name on it... just go for anything that is light yellow-gold or champagne)
2. Rock & Republic Saturate Eye Color in "Fuel" (use any gold that contains more yellow. Don't go for rose gold (I used the eye shadow brush that comes with NAKED 2 palette)
3. Urban Decay NAKED palette "Darkhorse" eye shadow
4. 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil from NAKED palette in "zero" (black)
5. D.U.P Eyelashes Fixer EX
6. Jealousness false lashes in JS-608 (click here if you're interested)
7. Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Medium Ash/Medium Brown (use only the lighter shade because Rania's eye brows appear to be lighter)
8. Urban Decay NAKED 2 palette "Foxy" eye shadow (matte white)
9. Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet+ matifying foundation (use any foundation with matte finish)
10. Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick in 307B Sweet Embrace (nude pink color)
11. Revlon Matte Lipstick in 001 Nude Attitude (to tone down the pink lipstick so lips appear even nuder)
12. Canmake Shading Powder (for cheek color and contour)
13. MAC Select Moisture Cover in NC20 (the concealer I used to clean up the eye shadows)

And of course... camwhore pics XD

It does oxidize. So initially it would appear quite pale but don't freak out :)

Bare face. Yes laugh my friends lol. This is why I never take pictures from the front my face is so NOT symmetrical XD
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
I used a traditional brush in these pics.

Photobucket
It definitely evens out skin tone. Light coverage but I don't think it's that sheer.

Photobucket
After the foundation sets completely

Photobucket
It looks kind of matte here but it's really more semi-matte. After the foundation completely sets you'll get a bit more coverage. And I did not powder or add anything on top of the foundation in these pics.

Okay now onto my thoughts?

- I don't think it's that sheer. It's only sheer when you apply it with fingers because it thins and melts with the warmth from the fingers. Depending on where you live, I found my favorite to apply the foundation when I was in Taiwan (hot and humid) was with a traditional foundation brush. Now I'm in America, I like to use my Sigma kabuki brush.

- This foundation can give a very dewy finish if you live somewhere hot and humid. Otherwise it's more of a semi-matte.

- It's slightly sticky. A lot of times I don't feel my foundation but I am always aware of my foundation when I'm wearing this. The stickiness can be a good for dry and flakier skin cuz it helps hold the flakiness down (I like to use a traditional foundation brush to apply this foundation if my skin is flaking so I can lightly put the foundation on. Of course, I still prefer powder foundations when it comes to flaky skin, but this is one liquid foundation I found that can work with flaky skin so I thought it's worth mentioning).

- Definitely only suitable for dry skin or normal skin. I don't think combination skin will appreciate it-- I have combination skin and it breaks down on my face where it gets oily. Ick! Oily skin definitely won't appreciate it.

- I do feel like this foundation makes my face extra oily?? I'm not sure why, it's almost like this foundation is too nourishing/heavy for my skin and it's causing my face to produce even more oil. I'm saying this because my face has never gotten this oily even when I use other dewy foundations like NARS Sheer Glow or Bourjois Healthy Mix.

- I can absolutely NOT use a powder with this foundation. It cakes up with the foundation when I get oily. The foundation looks better on its own even when I get oily.

- Strong scent. Actually smells like really strong baby powder to me?! LOL.

- I think this foundation is definitely more suitable for winter.

Other points of view in case you want more reference :P

So I do regret purchasing this foundation... especially for its hefty price tag. it just doesn't work for my skin. I think the finish is good but it just doesn't sit/wear well. This will be in my future blog sales. I wish I had a chance to try out the new Velvet foundation >_< oh well.

Hope you guys found this review helpful =)

Good stuff alert-- Diorskin Nude Skin-glowing Makeup and Rouge Dior nude lipstick!

Review is now up! Please click here to check it out ^_^ ============================================================================== Photobucket

Guys guys guys!!!

So when I saw this blog post from a Taiwanese blogger... I ran to the mall the next day (which was yesterday after class XD)  to see the products in person >_< ... and splurged >.<

First of all... I blame Natalie Portman... why does she have to look SO FREAKING HOT in the ad campaign?!!??!?!?!?!!?! >.<
Photobucket
"The New Nude" :D  I'm very tempted to check out all the products from this line... or maybe not. My wallet wouldn't appreciate it >.<

Anyway I tried the two products the Taiwanese blogger 小季 recommended and fell in love with both T_T I don't usually dish out so much money for one lipstick ($30 is pretty much pushing my limit) but I did end up spending $32 on this nude lipstick ToT I actually don't feel so bad about purchasing the lipstick because all the earning will proceed to the Free Children Association (Natalie Portman's choice of charity)  :D  I believe the products launch date is 9/1 but the sales associate at Macy's was willing to pull the products out for me ahead of time XD

The rich texture. Exactly the kind of texture I look for when I'm testing out foundations :D
Photobucket

Photobucket
Isn't it gorgeous >.<

It is rare for me to purchase foundations without sampling them first. I wore it yesterday for the rest of the afternoon/night after having the makeup artist put it on my face. It wore pretty well (much much better than the Dior Fusion Wear)  But I'll have to wear it more before I can give a solid review :)

This lipstick is SO tiny compared to all my other ones

This is the most luxurious-feeling lipstick I've ever tried in my life.... O_O no wonder it costs an arm and a leg. It feels great on my lips! Again full review for these products will come later ^_^ Just want to share these products with you guys cuz I'm so excited about them ^______________^  I promise reviews are coming up >.< Sorry sorry I keep getting sidetracked LMAO.

Have you guys tried anything exciting lately? What's a makeup product that you're most excited about?? :D

Review is now up! Please click here to check it out ^_^
