LOL failed attempt at Katy Perry's ET Inspired Makeup

Hi guys!


Another quick post. It was such a fail XD My work looks like a child's play compared to what she has (well duhhhh). Nevertheless thought I'd share anyway XD

Don't know if you guys can tell but I went in after and made my spots smaller cuz I felt like they were taking up too much space on my forehead. And I made the eye shadow underneath my eye a more sharper triangular shape (you prob can't even tell the difference if I hadn't said anything... XD I wouldn't be able to tell LMAO)













I think Katy Perry was supposed to be some kind of deer in the music video?? But honestly I think my recreation looks more like a giraffe. ROFL.

=_= Sephora F&F sale is for employees only

Update: TiffanyD talked about the confusion regarding this sale. She said there's another F&F sale for everyone in November!

I thought something was off =_= because usually if there's a friends and family sale they would send out regular mails or e-mails beforehand. Since I have got none I called Sephora today to make sure. And they told me they only give out the 20% off to the employees to give to their friends and family. She said I could try stopping by a store to ask a Sephora MUA to give me one but it's unlikely I'm gonna get one. So apparently the blogs where I got my information from were only partially correct. The sale does happen from 10/18-10/31, but it's just not for anyone.

I'm sorry for the false alarm guys =( I am so disappointed. Why is Sephora doing this?! I thought they usually do the F&F sale every year for everyone! Instead they only do the spin the wheel thing. ='(

I guess I'll just have to wait for the VIB sale... I heard that happens in November. We'll see if the information I got is correct or not.

La Mar 'The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid' Sunscreen Swatch

Hey guys!

This is just gonna be a super quick post ^_^ Thought I'd share some swatches for this sunscreen in case someone else out there is curious about the consistency/application of this sunscreen.

Remember I mentioned about wanting to try a new sunscreen in my Sephora shopping list post?

I got a sample from Nordstrom.

You can see it has a slight green tint to it and it is very liquidy and almost like water.




I really like the scent of this sunscreen. It's very very subtle and you can't smell anything unless you stick your hand in front of your nose lol!


Blends really nicely and it sinks into the skin very nicely, leaving no sheen behind.



So I just want to say I really like the consistency, texture and application of this sunscreen. But unfortunately this sunscreen broke me out =(


Got red bumps all over my cheeks. It doesn't look too bad with the yellow lighting. And it isn't too bad; it's not itchy or anything. Just annoying. It took me 3 days to realize that it's the sunscreen breaking me out. I noticed the red bumps after the second day of using it but I thought it's just my crazy sleep schedule messing with my skin. The red bumps got worse on day 3 that's when I know something's definitely off.

By the way this is more or less the same reaction I got from the GA Maestro foundation, except GA was worse and it only took one day for my face to develop these red bumps and it made my face itchy.

SO GLAD that I got to sample this sunscreen... save myself the trouble of buying and returning the product O_O

My skin's been acting up more frequently than before =_= first the GA Maestro foundation, took me about 2 weeks to fully recover from that... then I got allergic reaction to friend's cat... and now this. LOL. Oh well. I think I'm gonna stick with my Josie Maran sunscreen. Not even gonna try the HERA one cuz although I haven't read any negative reviews, from what I gather HERA Sun Mate Daily is a very heavily fragranted sunscreen so I'm not even gonna risk it.

That's all! What a shame. Well it saves me money so I can't say I'm too sorry that this sunscreen doesn't work out XD

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation Review

Hi guys!

I'm back with another foundation review :) This is the first drugstore foundation I've ever bought so I was very excited about it XD


It has a really strong fruity scent which I don't mind :D usually I don't like my face products to be too fragranted. This foundation is pretty heavily fragranted but that goes away after application.

There's also the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation which is in red packaging and is a gel foundation

Honestly I think the difference between the two is so subtle... almost undetectable (well for me at least). But the serum foundation is in fact ever so slightly thinner than the regular one and for that reason the coverage is ever so slightly lesser as well. But honestly I think there isn't that much difference *shrugs*


The pump is super nice! So easy to control. Really good quality

Now onto swatches

My color is in No.52 Vanilla. Honestly I think No. 53 could've worked too but some how I think 53 contains more red... so I chose 52 because it looks more yellow to me.




In Taiwan it gives me an extremely dewy finish-- just bear in mind if you live somewhere hot and humid, this foundation is gonna be more dewy than semi-matte. In the US it gives me a semi-matte finish.

It looks a bit dry around the nose this time... which is kind of weird cuz usually I don't find this foundation accentuating dryness. Guess my skin wasn't feeling that hydrated that day XD


lol I'm very nitpicky when it comes to foundations =P





Overall effect.





After around 8 hours

I have to say this lighting makes the foundation look like it fairs pretty well. I mean it does overall.





Besides some cakeyness around the nose, what the camera didn't capture was that the foundation fades just a bit on the nose where it's oily (so in person the foundation looks ever so slightly uneven). But as you can see from afar it's really not noticeable. Also I feel like when this foundation fades my blackheads tend to show up a bit more. But that wasn't captured on the camera.

Overall I think it's very good for a drugstore foundation! Probably best for normal skin. It might accentuate dry patches for dry skin. It fairs alright/good for my combination skin. Honestly, if you don't look too closely you wouldn't even notice the little things I pointed out. I'm just being picky XD

Would I repurchase? No. I don't like how it looks a bit uneven when it's faded when I get oily. But that's just a minor detail that bugs me personally =P
